1. Introduction With the acceleration of urbanization, the problem of urban garbage disposal has become increasingly prominent. As a harmful substance generated in the process of garbage disposal, the research and implementation of its treatment process are of great significance to environmental protection. This paper will conduct an in-depth discussion on the treatment process of garbage leachate in order to provide a reference for relevant practices. 2. Characteristics of garbage leachate Garbage leachate is a high-concentration organic wastewater with high biological toxicity and corrosiveness. Its production is mainly due to the continuous evaporation and concentration of water during the garbage treatment process, which eventually forms wastewater containing a large amount of organic matter. This type of wastewater has complex components and is difficult to treat. 3. Garbage leachate treatment process 1. Pretreatment process: According to the characteristics of garbage leachate, the pretreatment process usually includes steps such as oil separation, flocculation, and sedimentation to remove most of the floating oil and some organic matter. 2. Biological treatment process: Biological treatment process is the main means of garbage leachate treatment, including activated sludge method, biofilm method, etc. Through the decomposition of microorganisms, organic matter is converted into carbon dioxide and water, and substances such as ammonia nitrogen are removed at the same time. 3. Membrane separation technology: Membrane separation technology is a highly efficient wastewater treatment method that has emerged in recent years, including reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, etc. Membrane separation technology can effectively remove organic matter and microorganisms in wastewater while maintaining the purity of water quality. 4. Chemical treatment process: For special wastewater that is difficult to treat, chemical treatment processes such as ozone oxidation and electrochemical oxidation can be used. Through chemical reactions, harmful substances in wastewater are converted into harmless substances. 5. Combined treatment process: In practical applications, pretreatment, biological treatment, membrane separation technology and chemical treatment are often combined to achieve the best treatment effect. IV. Case analysis Taking a certain city landfill as an example, its leachate treatment process is analyzed in detail. The landfill uses a biological filter method for pretreatment to remove most of the floating oil and some organic matter; then it uses the activated sludge method and reverse osmosis membrane separation technology for biological and physical treatment, and finally meets the discharge standards. In the whole process, the water quality is strictly monitored to ensure that the treatment effect meets the standards. V. Conclusion and Prospect Through the above analysis, we can see that the landfill leachate treatment process has been widely used in practice and has achieved good results. However, there are still some problems that need further research and resolution, such as the complexity and variability of wastewater components, the efficiency and stability of treatment equipment, etc. Therefore, future research directions should include: 1. Optimize existing treatment processes: Explore more efficient and economical treatment methods for different properties of landfill leachate, and improve treatment efficiency and quality. 2. Develop new treatment technologies: Actively explore new wastewater treatment technologies, such as nanomaterials, photocatalytic oxidation, etc., to provide new ideas and methods for solving complex wastewater problems. 3. Strengthen supervision and monitoring: Strengthen supervision and monitoring of wastewater treatment processes to ensure that wastewater meets discharge standards and prevent secondary pollution. 4. Promote industrial upgrading: Encourage enterprises to strengthen technology research and development and equipment updates, promote the upgrading of wastewater treatment industry, and improve the overall competitiveness of the industry. In summary, the landfill leachate treatment process has achieved remarkable results in practice, but it still needs to be explored and improved. In the future, we should strengthen cooperation and exchanges, jointly promote the development of waste treatment, and contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development.
