Food waste treatment equipment refers to special equipment used to treat food residues generated in households, catering industries, canteens and other places. Its purpose is to convert food waste into useful resources or reduce its impact on the environment through physical, chemical, biological and other means. The following are some common types of food waste treatment equipment and their working principles: 1. Food waste disposer (household type) This type of equipment is usually installed under the kitchen sink and connected to the drainage pipe. When working, the user puts food residues into the sink, starts the disposer, and drives the grinding component to rotate at high speed through the built-in motor to grind the food waste into fine particles. The ground mixture is discharged into the sewer under the action of water flow and enters the urban sewage treatment system. This equipment is suitable for the immediate treatment of daily household food waste, which helps to reduce the pressure of garbage collection and transportation, but requires the urban sewage treatment system to have corresponding treatment capacity. 2. Food waste biodegradation machine The biodegradation machine uses the biochemical action of microorganisms (such as thermophilic bacteria, anaerobic bacteria, etc.) to ferment and decompose food waste in a closed environment. After the kitchen waste is crushed and stirred inside the equipment, it is mixed with microbial inoculants, and the appropriate temperature, humidity and ventilation conditions are maintained to promote the proliferation of microorganisms and decompose organic matter, and finally generate organic-rich fertilizer or biogas (such as methane). This type of equipment is suitable for on-site treatment of kitchen waste in communities, schools, hotels and other places to achieve waste reduction and resource utilization. 3. Kitchen waste dryer The dryer evaporates the water in the kitchen waste through hot air circulation or heat conduction, so as to dehydrate and dry it. The volume of the dried kitchen waste is significantly reduced, which is easy to store, transport and subsequently process. The dried product can be used as biomass fuel, feed additive, organic fertilizer raw material, etc. The dryer is often used in conjunction with other processing equipment (such as crushers, fermentation tanks, etc.) to form part of the kitchen waste treatment system. 4. Kitchen waste press dehydrator The press dehydrator removes free water from the kitchen waste by physical squeezing. The screw conveyor inside the equipment applies pressure to the kitchen waste, forcing the water to separate from the solid-liquid mixture. The moisture content of kitchen waste after dehydration is reduced, which is conducive to subsequent composting, incineration or bioconversion treatment. Press dehydrators are often used for pretreatment of kitchen waste in large catering institutions, food processing plants and other places. 5. Kitchen waste pyrolysis gasification furnace The pyrolysis gasification furnace uses high-temperature pyrolysis technology to decompose kitchen waste into combustible gases (such as hydrogen, carbon monoxide, methane, etc.), solid residues (biochar) and a small amount of liquid products in an oxygen-free or low-oxygen environment. The combustible gas produced can be recycled as energy, the solid residue can be used as a soil conditioner or further processed, and the liquid product needs to be properly handled. The pyrolysis gasification furnace is suitable for large-scale and centralized treatment of kitchen waste, especially for occasions with high requirements for energy recovery and resource utilization. 6. Kitchen waste composting equipment The composting equipment uses the natural fermentation of microorganisms to mix kitchen waste with an appropriate amount of garden waste, agricultural waste, etc., and through aerobic or facultative anaerobic fermentation, the organic matter is converted into stable humus to form nutrient-rich organic fertilizer. The composting process usually includes pretreatment (crushing, mixing), fermentation (turning the compost for oxygen supply, temperature control), maturation and post-treatment (screening, packaging) and other steps. Composting equipment is suitable for communities, farms, organic fertilizer production enterprises, etc., to realize the resource utilization of kitchen waste. In summary, there are many types of kitchen waste treatment equipment, each with its own applicable scenarios and advantages and disadvantages. The selection of suitable equipment should comprehensively consider factors such as the amount of kitchen waste generated, treatment goals (reduction, resource utilization, harmlessness), site conditions, and economy. In actual applications, it is often necessary for multiple devices to work together to form a kitchen waste treatment system to achieve efficient and environmentally friendly kitchen waste treatment.
