The lees dehydrator is a mechanical device specially used to process the wet lees produced in the brewing process and effectively separate the water inside it by physical or chemical means. The purpose of lees dehydration is to reduce the volume and weight of the lees, so as to facilitate the subsequent storage, transportation and resource utilization. The following is the working principle, main types and applications of the lees dehydrator: Working principle of lees dehydrator: The lees dehydrator is mainly based on centrifugal force, pressure or a combination of the two, and the lees are dehydrated through the following steps: 1. Feeding and preliminary extrusion: The wet lees enter the dehydrator through the feed port, and the screw propeller or pressing device inside the equipment performs preliminary extrusion on it to remove some free water. 2. Centrifugal separation (applicable to centrifugal dehydrators): The lees are subjected to strong centrifugal force in the high-speed rotating drum, and the solid and liquid phases are separated due to the difference in density. The lees solid (solid phase) is thrown to the drum wall due to its high density to form a solid phase layer; the lees liquid (liquid phase) is concentrated in the center of the drum. 3. Screw push (applicable to screw press or centrifugal dehydrator): The screw conveyor coaxially arranged with the drum rotates at a speed slightly lower than that of the drum, and pushes the solid phase layer along the drum wall to the discharge end through the differential action, while preventing the solid phase particles from flowing back to the liquid phase area, keeping the solid-liquid interface clear. 4. Pressure dehydration (applicable to press dehydrator): The wet lees are subjected to hydraulic or mechanical pressure in the press chamber, and the water is squeezed out through the filter screen or filter cloth to form dehydrated lees with a certain dryness. 5. Solid-liquid discharge: The dehydrated lees (solid phase) is discharged from the discharge port under the action of screw push or pressing force, while the separated lees liquid (liquid phase) flows out through the liquid phase outlet on the drum or the filtrate outlet of the press, realizing solid-liquid separation. Main types of lees dehydrator: 1. Screw press lees dehydrator: The axial pressure is applied to the lees through the screw shaft, and the lees particles are blocked by the screen or filter cloth, forcing the water to be discharged through the screen or filter cloth. 2. Centrifugal lees dehydrator: It uses centrifugal force to separate solids and liquids. It has the characteristics of fast processing speed and high dehydration efficiency. It is suitable for lees with large processing volume and high solid content. 3. Belt filter press lees dehydrator: It uses multi-stage pressing areas and tensioned filter belts to gradually dehydrate lees. It is suitable for occasions with large processing volume and high requirements for the dryness of lees after dehydration. Application of lees dehydrator: 1. Brewing industry: The wet lees produced by the winery during the brewing process are dehydrated by lees dehydrator to reduce the volume and weight, which is convenient for subsequent storage, transportation and further resource utilization, such as making feed, biomass fuel, organic fertilizer, etc. 2. Food processing industry: In the food processing process using grain as raw material, such as the wet lees produced in the production of rice wine and fruit wine, the lees dehydrator can also be used for dehydration. 3. Environmental protection: Wine lees dehydrator plays a key role in wine lees waste treatment projects. By reducing the volume of wet wine lees and reducing transportation and disposal costs, it helps to achieve wine lees resource utilization and environmental protection goals. In summary, wine lees dehydrator effectively separates the water in wine lees through physical or chemical means, achieves wine lees reduction, and creates conditions for subsequent storage, transportation and resource utilization. It is one of the indispensable environmental protection equipment in the brewing industry and food processing field. The type of wine lees dehydrator should be selected based on the actual processing volume, dehydration requirements, investment budget and other factors.
