The three-phase horizontal spiral centrifuge (tricanter )is driven by the main motor to rotate the drum at full speed. The material is continuously introduced into the spiral through the feed pipe and evenly distributed to the spiral discharge port. Under the action of centrifugal force, the solid phase settles on the drum wall and is pushed out by the spiral pusher towards the slag outlet of the conical drum. The liquid phase flows out along the spiral towards the overflow hole at the large end of the drum, forming a small end with solid phase and a large end with liquid phase. Separate solid particles from the liquid in the mixture, or separate two immiscible mixtures with different densities.

working mechanism:
The three-phase horizontal screw centrifuge is mainly composed of a driving part, a rotating drum, and a screw conveyor. It has a compact structure and small volume. Its operation is based on the principle of sedimentation, which means that solid particles with a specific liquid weight precipitate out within a predetermined time. This principle can also be applied to two liquids that have a specific gravity difference and are immiscible. When the material enters the high-speed rotating drum, it rotates synchronously with the drum inside. Due to different densities, the centrifugal force it receives is different. Solid particles with higher densities receive the greatest centrifugal force, followed by water, and dirty oil is the smallest. In this way, a concentric solid layer and two liquid layers are formed from the outside to the inside according to the magnitude of the centrifugal force received. The solid is pushed out by the screw conveyor, and the liquid is discharged from its respective liquid inlet. So the application of a three-phase spiral centrifuge can not only separate the solids in the three sludge, but also separate the dirty oil in the three sludge, that is, it can perform solid-liquid separation.
Application of Three phase Horizontal Spiral Centrifuge in Oil Sludge Treatment:
The three-phase horizontal screw centrifuge has shown great superiority in the treatment of three sludge, as it can not only separate the solids in the sludge, but also separate the dirty oil in the sludge, which is incomparable to other separation methods. At the same time, the moisture and oil content of the dry mud treated by the three-phase horizontal spiral centrifuge decreased to varying degrees. The comparison of the oil sludge treated by vacuum filter and three-phase centrifuge is as follows: the average moisture content of the dry sludge treated by vacuum filter from January to June 1997 and the dry sludge separated by three-phase centrifuge from January to June 2001 are compared. Comparing Table 1, it was found that after using a three-phase horizontal screw centrifuge in 2001, the average moisture content of the dry mud decreased by 6.3%, due to the decrease in moisture content of the dry mud. On the one hand, it reduces the amount of pulling and lowers the transportation cost; On the other hand, it reduces the amount of oil sludge entering the natural environment and lowers environmental pollution. Through the above comparisons, it can be concluded that using a three-phase horizontal screw centrifuge to treat three sludge has a significant effect.
